powerful leaders of the 20th century. They were both actively involved in some very precarious times with each obviously determined to win. In the following paper we examine the leadership
styles of each man individually, and then provide a comparison and contrast of the two. Fidel Castro Fidel Castro is, perhaps first and foremost, an incredibly charismatic man,
especially to his people. While the people in the United States do not see it, for their society and way of life is totally different, Castro is a man of
character. Now, that is not to say that his is a noble and honorable man that is full of good character, but that he is a powerful and intriguing character.
When we look at Castro, even for a brief moment as it involved all the hatred coming from the United States, we find it incredible that he actually escaped,
unknowingly, so many attempts on his life as they originated from the United States. The government of the United States tired over and over to rid the world of Castro,
poisoning cigars, interfering in vacations, and almost anything else that could be imagined. Yet, Castro always escaped, not because he was aware of the attempts, but because he is lucky,
and truly an intriguing character. In short, we may or may not like him, but we cannot deny that his character is intriguing. He is a leader that many
people in Cuba had longed for. He provided the people with hope, and gave them new direction, even truly creating a Cuba that was far better off with him than
