separate elements, and ultimately how they work together, that any well-reasoned and informed view of the totality of the text can be assumed. The music video for LMFAOs "Sexy
and I Know It" offers a variety of compelling images that complement what are otherwise quite banal lyrics, and ultimately it is the juxtaposition of those images with the lyrics
that lend a sense of narrative to the text, and allow for the deeper insights that will come later. That being said, this examination focuses on the juxtaposition of image
and lyrical context to establish a synthetic form of text, the "music video". The video begins with a line of men standing at a boardwalk on the beach. They
have different forms of fashion, but also share certain aspects of their presentation that are entirely identical to one another. For instance, they all wear the exact same black shoes,
emblazoned with the same logo. More significantly, they all obsessively check their appearance in handheld mirrors, standing together, but ultimately more aware of themselves than they are of one another.
Finally, at the behest of their leader, they begin to walk down the boardwalk, and as they do so, they attract the attention of others. A number of groups stop
to ogle them, men and women alike. Notably, the men seem to regard them with suspicion and jealousy, while the women seem genuinely intrigued. As the first verse of
the song reaches its crescendo, the leader of the crew of men, Redfoo, leads his pack in a suggestive dance. As the beat intensifies and the lyrics begin to come
