to the fact that Nora is not anything but his wife and the mother to their children. She has no identity of her own and slowly begins to see this
truth, leading to her eventual decision to essentially end the marriage. This is the story of Nora and the story of a "A Dolls House." As would perhaps be expected,
considering that this play was written in a time when women had no social power, Ibsen was an author who cared about the plight of women for Nora is a
very well developed and intelligent individual. It was also a play that incited chaos because of its feminist ideals (ClassiNotes). The following paper discusses Nora from a feminist perspective and
also briefly discusses another strong female character, Christine. A Dolls House Many would clearly argue that Ibsens play is very much a feminist story. This is because the woman,
the humble and oppressed and naive woman in the beginning, becomes the heroine of her own story. In the beginning she was nothing but a simple woman who seemed content
to be nothing more than a wife and a mother. Her husband referred to her in pet names that spoke of his assumption that she was not much more intelligent
than an idiot, indicating that he had no real knowledge of who she was. However, as the story progresses she slowly began to emerge and show her true nature, her
true spirit, the one she had been keeping subdued for many years. She realized, after so many years, that Torvald was not going to see who she was, that she
was always going to remain a little songbird in his mind and so she sought self respect outside of the home. The most powerful feminist aspect of the story
