idea for a new business is that of a flameless candle. The product is still made of wax and is able to be fragranced in the same way so that
as the wax heats the fragrance is released. The inside of the candle as a small light assembly that is switched on at the bottom, the yellow/orange bulb is then
rotated to give a flickering effect. This is part the way down the candle so the flame appears through the wax to give the correct effect.
The advantages of this over the traditional candle is increased longevity, increased safety which also leads to increased flexibility of use, such as the ability to
put this near loose fabrics, to go out and leave the candle on. In terms of feasibility we first need to consider
if there is a market for this product. There are two main markets for candles; the decorative market and the personal care market. There is also a smaller third market
for candles bought for household purposes, to use in the case of electricity blackouts, but this is a very small part of the market.
In the past this has been a growth market, between 1996- 2000 there was a growth that lead to candle sales being $2.3 million in the US,
