a simple definition, "Stuttering...is a speech disorder in which the normal flow of speech is frequently disrupted by repetitions (sounds, syllables, words or phrases), pauses and prolongations that differ both
in frequency and severity from those of normally fluent individuals" (AllExperts, 2006). The following paper discusses famous individuals who had a stuttering problem and how many of them found a
particular method of success. Famous Stutterers and Their Methods of Success There have been many numerous famous individuals throughout history who have stuttered and perhaps many of them
are unknown. It is likely that not until the age of technology, with media and radio, have people really been noticed as having a stutter. In addition, it seems that
those individuals who have suffered from a stutter are not necessarily eager to talk about the problem and as such many of the famous individuals overcame their issue in private,
or compensated without admitting how they did so. However, in more recent years more study has been conducted, and more research, involving stuttering and as such there is more information,
although perhaps still not enough for those who suffer from the problem. In terms of some of the famous individuals from the past who have stuttered, one author notes that,
"Demosthenes, Aesop, Claudius, Balbus Blaesius, Aristotle, Isaac Newton, Charles Canon Kingsley, Cotton Mather and Lewis Carroll" all suffered stuttering problems (Doty, 2006). This author also notes that one of the
greatest orators in history, Demosthenes, worked diligently at his speech: "He practiced speaking with pebbles in his mouth in an attempt to improve his articulation and shouted above the ocean
