Paper Store, Enterprises Inc. By - April, 2012 properly! The storytelling in my family bears some similarity to
the fascinating stories that are in both N. Scott Momadays House Made of Dawn and Anna Linzers Ghost Dancing as the aim of my Italian immigrant grandparents stories was largely
to entertain, as well as inform their grandchildren about their past. However, as with Linzers and Momadays storytelling, their stories also encompassed the effects of societal prejudice, which for
grandparents, as with the protagonists in both novels, was lingering and profound. Furthermore, like these authors, my grandparents stories were meant to convey to the grandchildren a sense of cultural
heritage. While humor is not a primary element in either novel, it can be argued that the principal aim of any writer is to entertain the reader. As both
of these novels are award winning, it can, furthermore, be argued that these authors both achieved this goal admirably. My grandfather loved to tell funny stories in his broken English
that offered humorous tales explaining such things as his physical characteristics, such as how he got all his wrinkles. (Could this possibly have been a folk tale? Was the
story nonsensical or an actual narrative from his past? The student is encouraged to include details.) My grandfather also related how he hid on the boat in order to reach
Ellis Island, which was rather like an action/adventure story. Another prominent factor that was evident in my grandparents stories and in their behavior, which is similar to the stories
