The ability of two individuals to live together in what our society typically regards as the social institution of marriage, that institution engaged in domestic pursuits such as
raising children and resource sharing, is predicated on a number of diverse factors. The intent of this paper is to address those factors one by one and to detail
one individuals view of their importance and the justification for that view. This will be accomplished by the delineation of this individuals response to ten specific scenarios and/or contentions.
Finally, the scenario will be addressed in which this individual finds out the person they just married holds the exact opposite opinion as they did on these scenarios/contentions.
1.There are many good people in the world with whom I could have a happy marriage.
Answer: Disagree Although there are indeed many good people in the world, a happy marriage
is predicated on much more than a persons inherent goodness. A happy marriage is predicated on the ability to work together toward a common goal. This is true
whether the marital unit is attempting to raise children, to work out a budget, or to decide who is responsible for what in regard to household chores.
