of a middleman buying in gods and then selling them. If we consider the factory gate price this is much lower than the selling price of goods when they
reach the stores. The patterns seen in many of the purchasing policies of the larger supermarkets we can see the firms ensuring that they are close the factory gate, buying
direct from suppliers. Companies such as Asda are also using the inference that they are cutting their costs and as such taking a lower profit o the goods beginning
it closer to the factory gate price. This is seen with marketing campaigns such as with Asda and the roll back campaign where they show process rolling back. The
implication is that Asda are doing this to gave customers more and take less profit in doing so, however, in reality they will often place increased pressure on the suppliers
in order to keep the process low or reduce them. If we consider the grocery suppliers, such as farmers, this desire to gain profit over and above the factory gate
price has also seen the increased and as a result as well as supplier selling to the big buyers they are also seeking to set up their own operations. These
