be taken). What most parents may not know however, is the financial health of the company, and whether the company would be
a good one in which to invest. The purpose of this paper is to determine the companys financial health through analysis of various financials obtained from investor page of the
Toys R Us web site (www.toysrus.com). By examining the balance sheet and specific ratios, we can determine if a company is financial sound or is headed for fiscal trouble down
the line. As of May 6, 2003, the stock price of Toys R Us was at $10.50 per share, with a 52-week
high of $18.60 per share and a 52-week low of $7.70 per share. The market cap on shares is $2.237 billion. But stock market movement does not necessarily tell the
full story of a company. We must delve further into the balance sheet in order to learn a little more about Toys R Us and its fiscal health.
In order to do this, we need to examine the ratios for the company. Ratios basically help us determine if a company is making
its financial and inventory goals or if there could be some problems in the near future. The following are ratios for the company.
