Inc. by P. Giltman 7/2010 Please Atlanta, Georgia -- A string of bar fights over the last three nights have
led local authorities to crack down on excessive drinking and late night partying in downtown Atlanta. Officers say racial remarks between whites and blacks are the primary cause for
the recent outbreak of brawls. Leaders from both communities are seeking effective ways to communicate to stop the fighting from continuing. Downtown Atlanta has been home to racial brawls over
the last several years and just when local residents thought the fighting may have ceased, six fights have broken out over the last 72 hours. However, ever since the
passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, these communities have become targets in that not only are the victims subject to racial slurs but many have been making
fun of people with disabilities which has led to some of these recent brawls. Furthermore, because this area is predominantly a lower socio-economic neighborhood, there are many minorities including blacks
and Hispanics. The blacks and Hispanics have also gotten tangled up in some of these brawls and sociologists credit much of this to language barriers and overcoming the challenges that
accompany language barriers. Local community leaders who urging all sides to bring peace to the situation are working to hold forums so all sides can voice their opinion and
possibly come to a resolution. They believe if people in the community can begin to understand why these fights are breaking out then maybe they can do something to stop
