there are several layers and versions of father revenge plots which are explored. In addition to the revenge plot of Hamlet, there is the revenge of Laertes and Polonius, Fontanbras
and his father, and Pyrrhus and Achiles. Act III, sc. ii in Shakespeares Hamlet can be said to be the climax of
the play. Everything that Hamlet has suspected until then, he feels, will be made clear to him. Despite the fact that at this point he has alienated his mother and
the one other woman who loves him truly (Ophelia), and disregarding the fact that he has pretty much destroyed any hopes he may have of retaining and gaining the throne,
Hamlet with obsessive focus, directs his attention to the matter at hand: revenging his fathers death. When a visiting troupe of actors visit
the castle, Hamlet conspires with the actors to reenact the way in which he supposes that his father had been murdered. Surely, if he is guilty, Hamlet reasons, Claudius will
react. In this play that Hamlet has written as part of the elaborate mousetrap for his step father, he has two actors portray Pyrrhus and Achiles. In this play Pyrrhus
and Achiles reenact the way in which Hamlet believes his father was killed by Claudius and how revenge will be exacted on the guilty party.
Meanwhile, there are at least two other revenges that are in the planning stage. Prince Fortinbra of Norway has been planning his revenge on Denmark because Hamlets
