System" or an ERP. In this paper, well do two things. Well describe the company itself, what it is and what
it plans to accomplish. Then well examine, through the literature available about management of logistics and supply chains, the best possible system that Fast Ship could develop to manage its
tasks, processes, people and information. BACKGROUND - FAST SHIP During January 1995, an announcement had been made of a new transatlantic freight
transportation company, entitled Fast Ship. The MO behind Fast Ships success, according to the background is that the company is to focus on three factors - speed, dependability and affordability.
When launched during 2008, the goal of the company is to offer seven-day, door-to-door, time-definite express freight service between Europe and the U.S.
Such freight service, depending on the forwarders used, can be fairly pricey, and it is Fast Ships goal to provide the quality freight server comparable to standard airfreight,
but at half the price. The overall goals, for customers using Fast Ship would include a more cost-effective and efficient just-in-time manufacturing
network to get supplies to their destinations easily and without a lot of money; and a better eaction to sudden shift in both manufacturing and market demands. Also good for
