a time when women were more actively fighting for their rights, a time when political scandal was common, a time when radio became the newest and most powerful technology, and
a time of change in general and the nation recovered from WWI. One of the most prominent writers of this time was F. Scott Fitzgerald. He lived, and wrote about,
the Jazz Age, epitomizing the culture as well as writing of its inherent dangers it seems. With this basic information at hand the following paper first examines the Jazz Age,
then discusses the work of F. Scott Fitzgerald, and then finishes with a look at the contributions made by Fitzgerald. Jazz Age "Beaver coats, hooch, Roadsters, flappers,
the Charleston, and hot jazz -- all these ingredients blended in the punch bowl that was the Roaring Twenties, the era in which F. Scott Fitzgerald and his wife Zelda
were the crown prince and princess of the fast set" (The Art and Culture Network). It was a time of great change as the American Dream. In previous times the
American Dream had often been associated with people such as Benjamin Franklin who came from nothing and found happiness and success through ethical and moral means. The American Dream of
the 1920s turned to the American Dream we know today, which involves the assumption that if we work hard we can have wealth, and wealth is at the heart of
the American Dream of success rather than morals and ethics. F. Scott Fitzgerald and his wife were people who reflected both ideals in many ways, although their life was
