the transportation of the goods. If we make the assumption that the goods are to be shipped under the DEQ terms, this means delivered ex Quay at a named
port of destination. There are two versions of this, these may be either duty paid or duty unpaid. Usually the position is one where they are delivered to a
port of choosing of the buyer and the goods are transferred when they are unloaded form the ship and are on the quay, but before they clear customs. This is
a change from the former ICONTERMS where it was up to the seller to make the arrangement for the import requirements such as import licences and import duties to be
paid which would then be repaid to the seller by the buyer This is why we say there are two version, but we will look at the most up to
date ICONTERMS definition of DEQ. We will assume that when this gets to the export manager the contract has already been formed and that this does make allowances for
delivery times and routes and that the goods are being sent by sea. If we look at what the export manager has to arrange the first requirement is for
the seller to provide not only to goods, but also a commercial involve, either paper or electronic that will conform with the contract for the sale of the goods, as
