systems were reserved for only the largest corporations, operating on the multinational scale. Similarly, there are now more organizations doing business overseas than ever before; while it was once the
case that only the largest organizations expanded their operations overseas, nowadays small organizations are compelled to launch international operations in order to remain competitive. The result of all this competition
is that it is now more difficult than ever to achieve a true and lasting competitive advantage. It is virtually impossible to do so without leveraging those resources one possesses
which are endemic to the organization, and which will not constitute a considerable cost to utilize. One such key resource is the people who make up ones organization. This paper
will explore the concept of human resource management, and its potential competitive advantage. This paragraph helps the student present a basic overview of human resource management. It has long been
said in studies of management and leadership that people make a company. Indeed, this is true; the potential of an organization to succeed is limited by the potential of the
individuals driving the organization forward. This is why personnel managers have always been considered so important. However, since modern organizations have the need to leverage even further value out of
