to enable them in leading more fulfilling and contented lives. For many people, CBT is the most pragmatic and meaningful of treatments in terms of how it shows where and
how a person may have distorted thoughts regarding any number of issues ranging from low self-esteem to eating disorders, to problems with intimate relationships. In fact, the American Psychological Association
has endorsed cognitive and behavior therapies as "well established treatments" (Internet source). As such, it would seem logical that it has a place in the treatment and recovery processes of
individuals with some form of panic disorder. Abstract The intent of this paper is to consider the ways in which an experimental design can be crafted that studies the efficacy
of CBT in terms of helping individuals suffering from a panic disorder. The investigation will be based on establishing a situation in which it is possible evaluating both the immediate
and the long-term effects of CBT in the treatment of panic disorder. A literature review addressing research that has been done on the issue is included, as well as a
suggested (and very basic) framework for the specialized investigation the student addressing this issue will want to consider. Literature Review Schmidt, McCreary, Trakowski,
and others (2003) focused on the complexity of the relationship between panic disorder and non-psychiatric medical illness. There primary point of interest was based on the idea that there is
