is written in first person to be used as an example for a student to write his or her own paper: My ideal expectations for my education included the
receipt of a well rounded, liberal arts education so that I can go into the world with a solid academic background. I believed that merely going to college would help
me to achieve my personal objectives, which includes professional goals of simply working at something I like. As you can probably tell, I had few concrete ambitions and my desire
for achievement was only related to vague ideas. I know what I like, but it was difficult for me to choose a vocation so early in my life. I believed
that going to college would provide me with a solid background, not only in terms of academic knowledge, but with knowledge to help me make choices about my future. In
some way, the realization of my goals has come to fruition. I am more knowledgeable now than I was when I started. However, in some way, the education failed to
give me what I needed early enough to make a viable career choice and take the appropriate courses for a suitable major. Again, my expectations were both grand but vague.
I was ambitious and I knew that I wanted to go to college, make my family proud, graduate, and make a lot of money. The problem was in choosing a
more specific goal and my expectations for my education was in the assumption that education would help me do just that. It helped, but I did not fully accomplish what
