The company understands that among other changes, the list of their stakeholders will change. Multinational stakeholders are the same groups as in the domestic market. They include employees, managers, suppliers, the community as a whole, venders, if any, the board of directors and shareholders. The difference is that when expanding globally, stakeholders in the host country will have different values, beliefs and attitudes. The company may need to adapt some of its typical operational strategies to be successful in a foreign market. Further, laws and regulations differ from country to country and the company must comply with the laws in the foreign country as well as in their home country. As an example, if the country expanded into Germany, the company would need to comply with the employment codes for all European Employers. They would also have to comply with the German Civil Code along with numerous other statutes that have emerged from the judicial system (The Federation of European Employers, 2003). Cultures differ from country to country. In fact, cultures differ from region to region in countries and the culture has a significant impact on business operations. Best Coffee House executives need to explore the cultures in any region they are considering for expansion. One good source is Hofstedes Culture Dimensions, which provides insight into the differences between cultures in five very important dimensions, such as collectivism and individualism, where the first places an emphasis on group or team accomplishments and the second places an emphasis on individual achievements.
