the world, people who have access to the Internet may purchase more of their household items and even groceries via the Internet. It is likely safe to say that Wal-Mart
will continue expanding so that people in any country who do not live in extremely remote locations will be able to shop at that store. Otherwise, todays grocery stores as
well as other retail stores will most likely prevail for consumers across the globe. The population is aging in all countries;. In an article in The Beijing News, He Bing,
a professor, asked: "In ten years, who will farm the land?" (Bing, 2007). Younger people are leaving the farm lands for the cities. They do not want to farm. Most
farmers in China are now over 50 years old (Bing, 2007). And, Chinese farmers continue to be poor. This is true even though the Chinese government subsidizes some farmers (Bing,
2007). As for what they will eat, as stated earlier, their diets will probably be much the same. Farmers eat whatever it is they produce and fill in the gaps
from grocery stores when they have the money to spend. Those who continue to farm in China will probably remain poor, which will limit their ability to shop in grocery
stores or to be involved in any kind of entertainment. Their worry will be the same as it is today-how to put enough food on the table. Just as
huge conglomerates have taken over most of the farming in the U.S., these same types of corporations may take over in China. As Bing (2007) said, China must produce the
grain because there importing the grain is nearly impossible. It is projected that Chinas population will reach at least 1.5 billion in 2040 (China Daily, 2009). It is also predicted
