back of their minds. They sometimes do things that they realize are mean, but they do it anyway. Sometimes they justify the action. Sometimes they just try to forget. Although it is true that many things can be construed as evil, it pays to look at what evil is before looking at what evil does, or rather, who does it and whether or not they are aware of that evil. First, what is evil anyway? Today, when someone hears of a heinous crime, there are different tacts to take. Some suggest that the perpetrator is pure evil, that he or she committed the crime knowingly and did so because they are evil at heart. Perhaps Satan is in charge, or simply, the individual is bad. Others take a more somber approach or possess a more liberal way of looking at things. They see an individual who is hurting inside. Who would kill another human being or destroy lives unless they themselves were harmed? For example, the sexual predator usually has been abused himself. No one is born with evil in mind. Rather, evil is done to them and so they perpetrate bad behavior. Still, where does the evil come from originally? Even if it is passed on to future generations, or victims, it has to come form somewhere. While some say it is original sin, that too suggests that evil exists in man and it is hard to argue that point. Aristotle has a take on evil too. While he does not explicitly define evil, he has a lot to say on the matter.
