the Internet, many are highly reliable and useful for scholarly research. Many others are not. The purpose here is to review several of each broad variety, assessing points
useful for determining the proper category for each. Evaluating Web Authorship Criminal Justice Links: http://www.criminology.fsu.edu/cjlinks/obscenity.html This is a site filled with underlying
pages addressing 17 different categories of information related to criminal justice. The link categories include drugs, censorship, crime, police international and juvenile delinquency, among others. The site would
be quite useful had it been updated more regularly. One page was last updated in 1998; the most recently updated page found was updated in March, 2004. One
of the most recently updated pages, "Corrections," serves as an example of the usefulness of the site. As do the other links pages, this one contains a list of
no fewer than 100 (likely more) links to external sites. In the "Community Corrections" division there are 25 links listed, only seven of which lead anywhere but to a
"file not found" page. Even the link to the authors own home page returns only an error message. Searching for Dr. Greek
at Florida State Universitys main page does return a live, functional site that includes Dr. Greeks curriculum vita, which contains a long list of books; articles in refereed journals and
books spanning the period from 1978 to 2004; and papers presented through 2004. Dr. Greeks CV also lists full contact information, including home and office.
