is Rite Aid Corp. (RAD), which was the first staggering corporate scandal reported in the series that would give us Worldcom, Enron and the others. In the case of
Rite Aid, the scandal was overstatement of positive financial information to the tune of one billion dollars that came to light in 1999. All of the criminal cases have
been concluded and the former senior managers currently are in prison. The company is well behind Walgreens and CVS in its industry, but it continues to function, recover and
grow. Yahoo! Stock Information On the Yahoo! page for any stock, along the left pane is a variety of links specific to the
stock. "Summary" provides current information delayed for a time (appears to be about 40 minutes) including current stock price and a chart of the days activity.
The "Chart" link provides a chart of prices for the stock, presented in time reference that the user selects. Choices range between one day and
five years, extending to a choice called "max." For very old companies "max" may not include full history, but for RAD it extends past 1990. The "Historical Prices"
link provides a list of daily, weekly or monthly closing prices of the stock for as long as the company has been public.
The "Financials" section provides links to three years of income statements, balance sheets and cash flow analysis. The "Industry" section compares RADs performance to its competitors. Though it
lags far behind industry leaders in terms of total revenue and market capitalization, it leads its industry in earnings per share growth and long-term debt to equity.
