to the fact that journalists are writing about a conflict while living within the region itself. The problem as cited by the article is that embedded journalists are becoming less
objective. After all, it is hard to remain objective when one is in the exact place as the people on which the writer is reporting. How might one be objective
if they are themselves subject to gunfire and even death? The article begins with an interesting observation: "A journalist I met recently in Iraq told me that whenever he returns
from a stint with the military, he gets a string of queries from journalism professors, wanting to know if embedded journalists have become, in effect, "whores" of the armed forces"
(Kaplan, 2004, p.38). One has to wonder whether it is the case that the journalists are siding with the people they are closest to as it is hard to be
