examines what ethics and morality is, then finishes with a discussion of the two and how the two differ. Ethics and Morality It seems that first and foremost
morals are something that cannot truly be taught or formalized without a code of ethics. "Systematizing and formalizing morals are the main objectives of science called ethics" (Cause, 2000). In
many ways morals are something that may well be different to each of us, and they may exist without definition and word. But, through ethics, or a code of ethics,
they are brought to a more common and definable position. One author provides us the following description: "Define morals as the wisdom to seek, and ethics as the understanding of
wisdom. Wisdom lies above ones proposition, as the apple on the tree above ones stand. Morals become knowledge to be understood and such understanding requires formal study of it. Ethics
is such a science and its formalized understanding as a product" (Cause, 2000). When morality becomes general knowledge, when it is studied, it takes on the form of ethics
in terms of a code of ethics, such as seen perhaps in something like the Ten Commandments. Morality needs the study of ethics in order to define right from wrong.
Cause (2000) argues that we should "Consider morality the ultimate kind and stage of knowledge to be sought. Ethics is the study of morality as well as the standard set
to foresee, observe, and practice such morality obtained as knowledge" (Cause, 2000). We often use both terms interchangeably as they say something is ethical or moral. They may say
