suggests three tests to determine if an action is ethical. Transparency of the decision/action: Do I mind if others know what I have decided? Effect of the action: Who does
my decision affect or hurt? Fairness of the action: Would my decision be considered fair by everyone who is affected by that decision? (IBE, 2011). Jane, an employee in the
purchasing department, realizes that John, her boss, is receiving gifts from some of the vendors. She has noticed that John has been given gift cards, passes to concerts and other
items. The company has a very stringent ethical code of conduct and accepting gifts is forbidden. Jane believes she has three options. She can do nothing, which is the
safest thing to do. Second, she can discuss it with John and remind him of the code. This is dangerous because John could find a reason to fire her. The
third option is to call the companys ethical hot line and report it. Jane does not want to feel like a tattle-tale but this is a serious breach of ethics
and could harm the companys reputation if it was known. Jane decides to confront John and if the kickbacks continue, she will call the hot line. She believes the decision
is ethical because it passes the three IBE tests. 2. What part should the government take in ensuring that corporations are environmentally "friendly"? The government must take a strong role
in ensuring that corporations follow practices that are considered to be environmentally friend. Thats why the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) was created four decades ago (Paradowski, 2011). This agency regulates
