think of laws and rules, without realizing that when we think if something is right or wrong we are pursuing our own survival and the survival of a society. Rules
and laws, whether formal or personal, are essentially set up to protect us all and they are ultimately what define whether or not something is right or wrong. The following
paper examines the words of several individuals as they examine ethics involving right and wrong. Ethics: Right and Wrong In Peter Singers book "Ethics" he states "Ethics does,
in Hobbes view, give the ruler a right to command and to be obeyed, but it is in the interests of us all, not only in the interests of the
ruler, that this should be so" He illustrates how a land or society without a ruler would be a land where no one was safe, where people lived much like
animals. This is why there are rules and regulations, rules and regulations that control our own level of safety. Human beings are social creatures and they need to have a
community, a society, wherein they feel they belong and they are safe. If they have doubts about what is right and wrong it is likely because they are aware of
how important right and wrong can be in a society. If they do not think about right or wrong, and thus do only wrong, they are not being part of
