world is a marketplace and everyone is free to buy, sell, travel, do business, and make friends- all over the world. But globalization has brought some ethical concerns as well,
most often cited as the exploitation of poor nations by richer ones. This paper considers some of the ethical issues that globalization has engendered. Discussion Globalization has brought four different
kinds of change, according to one source: it has stretched "social, political and economic activities across frontiers, regions and continents"; it has intensified and interconnected the flow of finance, trade,
migration, culture and investment; it has sped up global interaction and it has led to a place where events in one area of the globe can have profound, and sometimes
unexpected, consequences in another (Ethical issues in globalization). Among the issues that are mentioned most frequently are the offshoring of jobs and the way in which a mobile workforce has
created a number of "sweatshops." When jobs are moved offshore, there are repercussions and hard feelings, as well as unexpected events. First, this source looks at the developed world (the
U.S. in particular) where things are much different than in the "third world." The source suggests that though there are more jobs now in the U.S. overall, many industry segments
are in decline, which we saw this week with the bankruptcy of General Motors (Ethical issues in globalization). There has also been a shift in the educational level and skills
