to accept a referees decision knowing that one of his players had cheated. The first article is by Marty Stango and discusses the "corporate ethics, morals and integrity of Chief
Financial Officers (CFOs) (Stango, 2006). Stango concentrates on the health care field, but his discussion can apply to any industry. In health care, however, perhaps more than most areas, CFOs
and CEOs are responsible to a number of stakeholders, and they also "have a duty as enforcers that they ignore at their own peril" (Stango, 2006). If they are going
to fulfill this duty, "healthcare CFOs must be uncompromising in their adherence to the highest ethical standards" (Stango, 2006). In addition, CFOs need to take the lead in
inculcating ethical values throughout their organizations; in order to do this, they need to examine five areas: "policies and procedures, board operations, management, internal audit and compliance activities" (Stango, 2006).
