While the plot of Gattaca is formulaic, the message of this Tech Noir film is that although Hitler is dead, and people swear it cannot happen again, the unthinkable can happen. And the creation of a perfect race is not that unimaginable. People go through many medical procedures to render themselves the ideal beauty. Many women in fact color their hair, pluck their eyebrows and have fat sucked from their thighs. If this could be avoided through genetic modifications, many beautiful women could be born and not have to spend a dime to look like an model. In fact, in reality, it was not too long ago when it was discovered that models were selling their eggs on ebay for a grand sum of money. Such has been criticized on both ends. The models sell their eggs for money and some believe that is unethical, but what is truly abhorrent is that people are paying a lot of money just to have good looking children.
