nurses to choose between conflicting duties and responsibilities. For example, the student researching this subject is confronted with the dilemma of having to prioritize the care needs of a
non-compliant, needy, demanding patient who is also drug-addicted versus the needs of a lonely, frightened patient who is dying. The nurse facing this dilemma has to overcome the obstacles of
