is up to the organizational leaders of Wal-Mart Corporation to correct any problems and to turn these negative perceptions this around and create ethical workplace cultures. ETHICS STATEMENT Wal-Mart Store
profess that they adhere to three basic beliefs - respect for the individual, service to our customers, and strive for excellence (Wal-Mart, Statement of Ethics, 2005). They further state
that these three basic beliefs or principles go hand in hand, with what they deem to be their ethical conduct and integrity that is the foundation of their business. The
company encompasses these three basic rules and a complete explanation of them in a thirty-one page document, which is given to each and every employee. Wal-Mart further explains their guiding
principles as - "follow the law at all times; be honest and fair; never manipulate, misrepresent, abuse or conceal information; avoid conflict of interest between work and personal affairs; never
discriminate against anyone; never act unethically- even if someone else instructs you to do so; never ask some to act unethically; seek assistance if you have questions about the state
of ethics or if you face an ethical dilemma; cooperate with any investigation of a possible ethics violation and report ethics violations or suspected violations" (Wal-Mart, Statement of Ethics, 2005).
