that eternity exists for individuals. In other words, they will simply die and that is the end of life. Yet, few believe that time itself will stop. Eternity, for most,
represents the whole of time for every living being or for none. Even before life began, the world was around. While that seems to be the consensus, Platos idea of
eternity is slightly different. In his work Timaeus which was written in 360 BCE, Plato explains: "When the father creator saw the creature which he had made moving and living,
the created image of the eternal gods, he rejoiced, and in his joy determined to make the copy still more like the original; and as this was eternal, he sought
to make the universe eternal, so far as might be. " While Plato contends that God so loved the world that he made it eternal, there is something not right
about the logic. After all, one can argue that God might have made man eternal to end the suffering that the knowledge of mortality brings, but would he make the
world eternal? If he created the world as it is known, did he first put a time limit on it? How could he make it eternal anyway? Many people think
of the universe as something that was eternal in the first place, irrespective of what God does. In the first book of the Old Testament, there is a sense that
there are other gods and that God simply lives in the universe. If not, why is he jealous? The idea that he could render the world eternal, even though he
created the human universe, seems to be a reach. Where did he come from if he did not already exist in the eternal universe? Some contend that God did exist
