A 36 page preliminary investigation exploring the need for and advisability of starting a new consulting business, Amani Consulting, Inc. Consultants abound, and for good reason. There are so very many aspects of management and management theory that affect a single aspect of business that it is impractical to try to incorporate all of them. Those involved in daily processes often fall victim to forest-and-trees disease, which prevents in-place management from being able to gain a whole-picture view of issues they have identified as needing attention. The consultant’s purpose is to address both internal and external customer service issues. Includes financials for a business plan and some business ideas, but consists primarily of synthesis of management theory and case examples of companies that have made improvements. Bibliography lists 25 sources.

Use of an outside consultant can preserve the systems view of the organization and the issues of interest. Frequently, all that is needed is an outside view to bring
facts into perspective. There are other benefits to using outside consultants, as well. Some of these benefits are: 1. Profit from the experience of other companies such as
Chubb Insurance Group, Southwest Airlines, 3M, Federal Express and others that have faced similar problems and dealt with them successfully; 2. Identify components consistent with a single companys industry and
culture; 3. Target areas for change, either directly benefiting customer service or indirectly by benefiting employees first; and 4. Begin with a high-level perspective and a step-by-step implementation plan.
The mission of Amani Consulting will be to provide astute analysis of organizational problems and several alternatives that the organization can pursue to alleviate
