type of therapy that is needed as well as how that therapy will be carried out. This is an excellent paper on the concerns, needs issues and problems of
someone suffering from Bulimia. SOCIAL HISTORY The client, Robin, is a fifteen year old female competing in track. She represents one of a special group of young people
who are keenly aware of their nutritional requirements. After all, they demand a great deal from their bodies as a means by which to achieve their varied and often
rigorous athletic goals. Still, this is not to say that just because one is an athlete that one follows the proper diet for optimal performance. As well, various
training techniques tend to manipulate the teenage athletes physiological condition, potentially rendering the body prone to overwork and exhaustion. Robin is suffering from bulimia in order to keep her
weight down so that she might continue to compete in her sport of track. This disease of systematically bingeing and purging normally begins in young people around the age of
puberty and results in extreme weight loss, usually at least fifteen percent below the individuals normal body weight. While many people with the disease actually look emaciated, they are
convinced they are still overweight. In extreme cases these people must be hospitalized as a means by which to prevent further weight loss and eventual starvation. This is
only the beginning of a treatment program that can take many months of dedication and support. CLIENT ASSESSMENT Robin feels she does not have a problem but her parents
are always nagging her to eat more. She feels she is doing what she needs to be doing in bingeing and purging so as to not gain weight.
