to be aware of the impact that their goods have in the environment. The term green audit or environmental audit has been used. These are audits of the damage and
pollution caused by the production of goods or the provision of services throughout the lifetime of the product or service. Although good, these are also limited in nature as they
cannot measure the entire cycle of the product. Typically a green audit will look at the effect of the production of the
goods, the use of the goods and the waste life of the goods. In reality this is all the company can do as many of the other factors may be
outside of its control or knowledge. For example the ink they use may be produced by a company in India, which in turn pollution the local environment, the factory itself
may be run on coal fired electricity which is not environmentally friendly, in turn the workers at that plant may travel by environmentally damaging transportation. The chain is very long,
and this extended in many directions, so in reality a true total green audit is not possible. If we consider the impact of a company producing small measure boats we
can consider how the environmental audits may take place and the different impacts that will be observed. We will start this by looking at the input materials, the use
