3 pages in length. Summarizing the following three cases - The Cockleburs On A Ski Mask That Convicted A Rapist, The Chigger Bites That Convicted A Man For Murder and The Baby in the Box - allows one to draw such common denominators as insect lifecycle and specific species location as two primary components associated with using entomology for solving cases. such common denominators as insect lifecycle and specific species location as two primary components associated with using entomology for solving cases. The one single aspect that connects all three
of these cases is the fact that without the presence of each respective insect, the case in question would have likely gone unsolved. The extent to which these bugs
were instrumental in providing the missing link that ultimately convicted every suspect is both grand and far-reaching; that even the most subtle nuance or seemingly insignificant aspect can provide a
solid timeline in relation to the suspects crime scene presence speaks to how a most unorthodox witness can help to facilitate justice (Svoboda, 2005). "...As long as you do
a nice objective analysis of whats going on, and you kind of follow their trail of evidence, theyre going to bring you to the truth about what happened" (OMeara, 2004,
p. 4). Taken individually, it is quite clear to point out the separate elements of each case that distinguish them from one another. For example, the chigger bites
that convicted the rapist were only found to be an indicator of the suspects guilt when they were found on law enforcement officials who were also at the site of
the attack; without this intrinsic connection, it is highly probable that the correlation would have gone undetected. Testing confirmed that the chiggers were only present in the location where
the victims body lay, which was also where the law enforcement officials spent a great deal of time evaluating the evidence. Being that the suspect denied ever having been
at the crime scene, it quickly became apparent he was lying but his efforts were for naught being that he could not escape the incriminating entomological evidence. The cockleburs found
