Assessing the ELL student is the first necessary step to take in order to determine what methods and strategies would be most
beneficial to the student (Assessment of ELL Students, 2004). While different assessment procedures exist, in the case of Chin, the Woodcock-Munoz Language Survey would be the most appropriate based
upon his circumstances (Assessment of ELL Students, 2004). This survey is designed for students whose primary home language is something other than English (Assessment of ELL Students, 2004).
In Chins case, his primary home language is Chinese (Assessment of ELL Students, 2004). However, Chin is also able to speak English and also even reads and writes English
