Marx who gets the credit for the most part. The theories to come from there is sometimes dubbed Marxism and it seems that Engels is just an insignificant or silent
author. Yet, in his own right, Engels has a great deal to say about the working class. Friedrich Engels (1999) book entitled The Conditions of the Working Class in England
was published early in the nineteenth century. It a provides a sense of the conditions of the poor in England during the time frame. They are juxtaposed to the wealthy
capitalists and while it is something true in nineteenth century England, it is also something that seems to be true today. Hence, the work serves as a volume that provides
lessons for every era. The book really focuses on the industrial revolution and the problems that emanated as a result. Many people are familiar with this phenomenon where it is
known that factories changed the way of life for millions of people. The most significant change seems to be that not only were items available in mass production, but that
factory work changed life for many people. This is how cities grew. The factories would spring up and people would head to the cities from the country regions. They would
not commute. Rather, they lived in the cities so that they could attain employment. Such was the way of life at the time. To some extent, certain things never change,
but factory life as it is known and came to be known, is really not all that prevalent. Many factories have closed down in recent years for example. This is
