unemployment is something most people will experience at least once in their lifetimes, there are select groups of people where unemployment is higher than the norm. One such group is
the Vietnam Veteran. A great deal of attention has been given to Veterans in the United States. Veterans continue to receive benefits long after the wars were over. People have
respect for returning war heroes and, on November 11th of each year, the United States celebrates these American citizens who fought for their country. While most veterans are applauded
the Vietnam vet has a special problem. Many do not enjoy the glory vets of other wars have. The Vietnam War caused a rift within the nation and, due to
the bloody nature of the conflict; a stigma is attached to having been involved in Nam. In fact, those who escaped to Canada, or burned their draft cards, and shouted
profanities at Woodstock, were not necessarily bashed for not defending their country. Rather, they had more support than those who fought in Vietnam. The stigma of having served in
Nam, along with the problems inherent in the battles, saw troubled men return. Some did not even return. So torn apart by the wrath of the seemingly unfair battles, they
stayed and lived in the woods or changed their identities so they would not have to go home. Some returned drug addicts. Still others returned with missing limbs. And they
were the lucky ones simply because they remained alive. Primarily due to the legacy of the Vietnam war, vets from that era find normal life somewhat difficult. Having to
come back, with opportunities for education and employment down the drain along with having to nurse battle scars, many had difficulty obtaining work. A large amount of vets experienced PTSD
