else civil rights are a given set of rights provided for by the Constitution of the United States. However, there are constantly violations of various civil rights as they have
developed over the centuries in the nation and some of those violations involve ones place of employment. While many people associate civil rights with the African American cause, or causes
of minorities, the truth is that all employees should be given the same civil rights in the workplace. As the student requesting this paper notes, employees "should not be discriminated
based on their color, sex, age, or race. It should not be tolerated for any individual to have their rights taken away and America should always protect these rights"
The following paper argues the importance of this case. Employment: Civil Rights At the foundation of civil rights lay the rights to various elements. "Examples of civil rights
are freedom of speech, press, and assembly; the right to vote; freedom from involuntary servitude; and the right to equality in public places" (Wex, 2007). Discrimination is what happens when
people are denied certain access to areas of society due to a class or group they belong to (Wex, 2007). As a result of ongoing discrimination through the decades there
have been various statutes that have aimed at changing and eliminating discrimination that involve religion, sex, race, age and many other conditions (Wex, 2007).
One of the most important, and more recent, documents concerning civil rights and employment comes with the Civil Rights Act of 1964. This particular act is primarily aimed
at protecting the rights of African Americans, or such was the case with its birth, due to the Civil Rights movement at the time. But, it is also an act
