virtually flawless, and she knows it. Not only does her critical thinking ability afford her the opportunity to devise a scheme where she expects to ultimately end up with
the money, but it is created with such clarity and deceit so as to unwittingly pit both sides - the cops and the thugs - against each other as they
each believe she is working for them. Lemore is successful once again at enabling the detective to solve the case through his characters use of critical thinking, illustrating how obvious
clues are not always the right ones to follow. The twisting and turning of Rum Punch represents a series of events that work in tandem with and in spite
of each other; only with the aspect of critical thinking can such a case be solved in the manner that Max adopts. Jackie is instrumental in making this happen,
