His Fault" was written in 1793 and was considered to be quite successful, as were many of her other plays. Her plays focused primarily on relationships through comedy and as
such she entertained her audiences with chaotic circumstances and wit. The following paper summarizes the play in general while discussing some of the most important elements within the play.
Every One Has His Fault This play is considered to be one of Inchbalds most typically domestic. In general summation we note that it is a story about many
different characters and many different couples. The reason it is considered a common domestic play is because the characters are primarily married couples who are perhaps less than happy or
normal. The couples are seen as less than well matched and marriages that were based on some level of ignorance on the part of the individuals. For example, we
have Lady Eleanor and Irwin as the couple who is shunned by her father because he did not approve of Irwin. On the other hand we have a couple like
the Placids who do nothing but bicker and argue all the time. As such we see that, aside from any concrete or necessary plot this play is about relationships. It
is a play that discusses the good and bad of relationships, and the quirky reality of all relationships. We can readily see, from the summary presented thus far, that
this play seems primarily focused on couples, and not necessarily a real powerful plot. This is because the play is strongly aimed at doing just that, illustrating domestic life. But,
