but upon close inspection, they are saying something dramatically different. It is one thing to be able to embrace knowledge, read about something, write about something, but not change it
and it is another thing to do something with it. For instance, inspirational writing is supposed to inspire an individual. A person who therefore reads a book on spirituality but
gains no insights is in some way not getting the point. Nothing can be done. It is simply the gain of knowledge for the sake of knowledge. In the context
of this discussion looms the idea of knowledge telling and knowledge transformation. While writers are told to show and not tell, this admonition goes beyond the show of knowledge. It
begs a writer to embellish the knowledge with a point of view without actually changing the facts. The idea that effective writing is created from specific information can be
true but is not necessarily true. Specific information is good and writers can relay certain facts and have an effect on a reader, but it is not likely if the
writing is dry or bland. One has to wonder weather or not bland writing is sufficient or just conveying knowledge in a mundane way can be satisfying. However, there
