There have been many studies on what it is that helps to create effective team working, and what may cause the failures. Not all teams will be successful, and it has been noted that Tom Peters has laid down some rules he believes need to be followed in order for teams to be successful which fall in line with the thoughts of other authors * There need to be clear goals for the team. We all know the idea that without goals there will be no achievements (Flemming and Koppleman, 1996). * The team leader should be in charge of the team members future. If they are not there may be a conflict of interesting a duel hierarchy (Flemming and Koppleman, 1996). * The team should be assigned on a full time basis. Part time teams mean that there arte split duties, often this can be unsatisfactory completion of each job, increased stress, and often reducing productivity due to the change over needed psychologically (Flemming and Koppleman, 1996). This is also often a sign of a lack of commitment by the employer. This will result in lower achievement due to the lack of motivation and the way that an employee may feel split in two (Huczyniski and Buchanan, 2004). This may also be harmful, as it is also unlikely that the employee will speak out, feeling that they are failing were others are succeeding in undertaking the two tasks (Huczyniski and Buchanan, 2004). * The members of the team need to have the authority to act.
