It can be argued that the workplace is not the same as it was just ten years ago, and it will not be the same ten years from now. In the ongoing quest to make the workplace a more effective environment, it has also become an ever-changing one in relation to its modifying climate. One of the most identifiable changes has been in the overt modification of cultural diversity, which as been responsible for "different values, assumptions [and] expectations" (Waters MINORITY.html). In his article Minority Leadership Problems, Harry Waters, Jr. notes that placing minorities in leadership positions often cause problems inherent to their ability to assimilate into the same type of system to which they have been trained. At the bottom level, management students who are other racial identities other than white bear the brunt of not gaining the necessary education they require in relation to minority leadership; indeed, there are issues to be addressed that often go overlooked.
