must be willing to learn flexibility; children who can adapt to different teaching styles are more likely to succeed throughout the educational model than children who view teaching as a
single-tiered learning process. Skillful educators, then, can promote positive learning and can show learners how different educational models can be beneficial. For example, children with learning disabilities
often struggle in traditional classroom experiences, including reading modules. I have observed students with significant language learning disabilities make great strides in their reading progress when skillful teachers use
a student-centered educational approach and direct learning modules towards individuals reading goals. This type of approach, then, integrates Special Education directives with a student-centered teaching approach, demonstrating the application
of new and emerging theories of learning towards positive gains for learners. Within the scope of applied learning, I believe that educators need to have administrative support for the implementation
of programming that is outside of the traditional or expected educational model. In conjunction, administrative support for professional development, for access to resources and for implementing meaningful assessment tools
are central to creating a positive learning experience. Administrators who are able to demonstrate a focus on the learning experiences of educators as a basis for creating positive change
are the most successful in terms of influencing educational development and learner outcomes. As a component of my educational philosophy, I consider myself an instructional leader. I have
learned the importance of both teaching and learning, and believe the educational environment should be one that is cyclical and developmental in nature. Schools are not static entities in
which traditional models are the only way that children will integrate necessary skills and knowledge; schools are fast becoming places of reciprocal learning, where both educators and students benefit from
