Federal education research, statistics, evaluation, information, and dissemination, and for other purposes" (2002, p.PG). One part of the bill creates an "Academy of Education Sciences" that is comprised of
a directors office, National Education Centers, and more ("Bill Summary," 2002). Another part of the bill calls for the establishment of a National Education Center for Education Research (2002). It
has a variety of purposes, including but not limited to, the maintenance of peer-reviewed standards, the stipulation that long-term research activities will be conducted, and the implementation of scientifically
valid research that utilizes objective and measurable indicators in order to evaluate progress and results (2002). Many other items are included in the bill. Basically, this portion of
the bill calls for additional research in this realm and the upholding of standards. Part C of the bill calls for a department named National Education Center for Education Statistics
and requisites that statistics would be collected, reported, analyzed, and statistical data disseminated; the data is related to education in the United States as well as in other nations ("Bill
Summary," 2002). In addition to the compilation of statistics, it establishes training programs in that domain and so forth (2002). Part D creates the National Education Center for Education
Evaluation which would either conduct or support evaluations consistent with the Centers mission (2002). Essentially, this bill creates an elaborate educational research plan in order to study and repair
