not only more intelligent, but more aware, more enlightened, more compassionate and wiser. Education can, in truth, alleviate many problems and perhaps even solve problems. The following paper examines when
education can be beneficial and examines whether there are times it may not prove beneficial in relationship to the problems of crime and civil rights. Education: Crime and
Civil Rights In relationship to crime it can perhaps be stated that most of the people who commit crimes are not highly educated. This does not mean that all criminals
are uneducated, just that the majority are likely undereducated. As such it seems logical to assume that if they received a better education they would be less likely to engage
in a life of crime. From another perspective there is the relationship with education and criminal activity, teaching people about what a life of crime can be like once incarcerated.
There are many such programs for young people that teach them what it is like in prison, giving them a taste, perhaps, of what life as a criminal may well
be for them if they do not change their ways. These programs can prove successful. There are, however, clearly going to be situations wherein education will do absolutely nothing
for an individual who is determined to engage in crime. They may know what prison is about, may be intelligent, and yet they find a life of crime far more
economically viable than a regular job. They may come from a family that has engaged in crime, or a family that accepts crime, and as such they are not likely
to change their perspective of, or involvement with, crime because they are better educated in an attempt to reduce their likelihood of such activity. The truth, for many, however,
