various parts to focus on a time period or segment of myth. The myths are for the most part well known, at least for the educated, but there are obscure
myths included into this rather complete volume. In Part IV for example, the work goes into the Trojan War, the fall of Troy and the adventures of Odysseus in addition
to the adventures of Aneneas. A plot summary for one of the myths contained in Part Four is the adventures of Odysseus who was incidentally a part and parcel of
the Trojan War. This myth takes on monumental proportions and Odysseus finds himself not only involved in war, but in love entanglements that concern his wife. Yet, it should be
noted that the plot of the myth concerning Odysseus adventures are inextricable with not only the War but the Fall of Troy. What happens is that in a rather intricate
entanglement, Odysseus is a part of the war, and he is the one who builds the infamous wooden horse. In the end, Troy falls, and Odysseus just continues to wander,
and never ultimately settles down. These myths are again inextricably linked and are generally told together as one story. Part Five in this work goes into the Great Families
of Mythology and provides information on The House of Atreus, The Royal House of Thebes, and The Royal House of Athens. Under the heading of The Royal House of Thebes
are the myths of Cadmus and his children, Oedipus, Antigone, and The Seven Against Thebes. Perhaps the most well known story in this Part is the one about Oedipus.
