The Jacksonville Jaguars, the citys football team, does perhaps attract people to the city, and aids revenues, but the city is not dependent on sports for its progress. Jacksonville has a strong economy in its own right and a diverse number of resources and provision of activities ("About Jacksonville," 2007). Still, the Jaguars is a part of the local economy. There are certainly economic benefits and deterrents as it respects professional sporting events. While the venue and team benefits financially and are affected by pricing, it is also true that the city benefits as well. When examining ticketing for this venue and team, and the potential economic effects, many concepts enter the picture such as ticket pricing, the fan base and the size of the stadium. In this case, the stadium appears to be too large to be cost effective, sometimes leaving the venue at a loss, but many are optimistic. Jacksonville is a growing city. Certainly, in the future, the size of the stadium will be good for the economy.
